Video of Sunshine!

First of all, I have to apologise.

I am more familiar with taking and editing photos. But when it comes to videos, I AM A TOTAL IDIOT!

I ALWAYS forget that with videos, I have to hold the camera in landscape position as it’s hard to rotate videos unlike photos which are easily rotated. So for the whole 8mins, you have to watch with your head tilted. Again.

I never learn do I?

Pfft.

Peekaboo!

It’s finally a little cooler in the mornings to take a picture of me wearing this scarf.

Name of project: Peekaboo MIL Scarf (From Knitscene, Fall 2006)

Yarn: Panda Rustica in white. And some blue ribbons

Needles: Some generic 8mm needles then changed to Knitpicks nickels 8mm

Cast on date: Sometime in December 2007

Cast off date: 22 December 2008 (Hibernated for a year!)

Learned: Nothing.

Modifications: Hmm, none.

Mistakes: None.

Sunshine looks miserable and I don’t blame her. It’s summer and I suspect wrapping a scarf around her may be considered child abuse. *Mutters at the heat*……….

The scarf is about 1.5 meters long. I knitted this for my Mum in law who said she likes scarves.

I would have taken better photos but I really am not keen on parting the curtains to let in the sun/heat/light. It gets so hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have another FO on my hands that I have yet to attach buttons to. Mainly because the wool is so scratchy and flakey that I hate to work with it especially in the heat. *Grumble grumble grumble*.

Hope the heat subsides soon so I can work on it!

It’s 2009 already!

Time passes rather quickly doesn’t it? I hope the next 4 months pass even quickly-ier-ier-ier. Because I am waiting for two things:

1. Summer to be over. It’s so freaking hot now it’s not even funny.

2. Chubbs to be born. He’s getting heavier in there. My back aches!

Sunshine has been learning and picking up words at an amazing speed now. She seems to have suddenly expanded her vocabulary overnight!

Things she can say and know what it means:

- Hi! (Says this when she wakes up and waltzes into the room to look for us. She also says it when she walks in on me in the bathroom peeing.)

- Buh bye! (She sounds sooooo cute when she says byebye.)

- She points to the buckets in the bathroom as well as a picture of a bucket in her picture book and says Buhchet!

- She says Ball! when she wants to play ball.

- Daddy

- Mama (no luck getting her to say ‘Mummy’ yet)

- No no

- Nana (for banana)

- Water

- Diaper! (Pointed to her drawer of diapers one morning and started saying this over and over and over. We did not consciously teach her this.)

- Blue (When pointing to objects that are blue).

- Knock knock (When knocking on doors. Especially the toilet door when someone’s in there.)

- Uh oh! (When she drops something or throws something on purpose.)

She knows to point at most of her body parts when asked now. Body parts such as toes, ear, hair (pulls her hair), head (taps her head), elbow, wrist, palm (points to palm), hand (waves her hand), foot, nose, teeth, mouth, belly button, knee and last but not least, ‘poopee’ (her vajayjay).

She also knows how to remove her clothes when we are about to shower her. She puts her arms through her blouse when we dress her.

She now holds her own bottle (I was kinda worried that I had to hold her bottle for her forever) and after she finishes her milk, she would pass the bottle to me with a smile, takes her handkerchief and wipes her mouth with it.

There’s just so many things that she’s been absorbing and playing back to us and shocking us with the amount of knowledge she actually has. I think this will be the period of time where she would be learning the most and we will continue to teach her everyday.

Sometimes I wish for her to grow up even faster so that I can rest more. But most times I wish she stays little and cute and innocent. She can be very stubborn and mischievous at times! Most times when we smack her for doing something she is not supposed to, she would click her tongue and look away and refuse to cry.

She seems to favour books over her toys. She loves to sit in her chair and looks at the pictures in her books. She brings these books to us and tries to get us to read to her. (Unfortunately, she does this by whining until we give in only to walk away after a few pages!)

She seems to know whenever she’s being cheeky. There was a morning where she walked into Lulu’s room and stood next to Lulu’s bed. She stared at Lulu, who was sleeping, for a few minutes. Then she turned to me and flashed me a cheeky smile and proceeded to poke Lulu in the eye.
Lulu twitched but did not wake. So Sunshine poked her in the eye again!

Another morning, she pulled Lulu’s hair, walked backwards to watch for Lulu’s reaction. When she was satisfied that Lulu was still asleep, she pulled her hair again.

What a cheeky monkey.

But the one thing I love most and am glad of is that whenever we ask her, “Sunshine, where is God?”

She points to her heart. :)
