Woo HOO!!!!!!!

New look! New new new!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU TIA AND DANIEL!!!!!

You guys have slaved hard. :D

More to come!

More knits~

So now I present to you……. 2 MORE FOs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First up, Sunshine’s Pixie hat!!!

This was taken with bad bad indoor lighting.

And these are taken in the car. :D

Name of project: Sunshine’s Pixie Hat~

Yarn: Left over Malabrigo Worsted in Shocking Pink from my Aussie #3 Swap. And then I had to join another skein to finish the hat. -____-”

Needles: I actually donch remember!

Cast on date: Don’t know.

Cast off date: I finished them in a few days. Was taking a break from my scarf -see below-.

Learned: Nothing.

Modifications: Used a thicker wool then what was given in the pattern so I casted on lesser stitches.

Mistakes: Zilch.

Next up!Â

Donna’s lace scarf!

My co-worker, Donna, went through a rough time recently. I decided to knit her a scarf (she is a scarfy person) in her favourite colours.

This picture was taken when it was in the box indoors. Hence the bad lighting.

Apologies… I didn’t have a good night’s sleep and therefore the puffy eyes.

Name of project: Donna’s lace scarf

Yarn: Cleckheaton Cocoon, 70% Australian Merino , 30% Nylon. Hand-dyed by Vintagegrrl.

Needles: Knit picks 3.5mm

Cast on date: 11 July 2008

Cast off date: 08 August 2008

Learned: Nothing.

Modifications: Knitted one less lace repeat.

Mistakes: Nadah.

I would probably never knit another scarf again. It’s soooo boring. The only reason why I took so long to finish knitting it is because I only knitted on it during my break times at work. At home, I worked on my CPH. :D

I have to go now. I’ll leave you with one picture of Sunshine, sleeping in the car, clutching onto her precious receipt.

THIS IS REAAALLLYYY HILARIOUS!!!

YAy YAyyyy YAAAYYY!!!!

Yay yay yay yaaaaaaay!!!!!!

This is the first time ever I’ve knitted something wearable for myself! It’s the 3rd item I’ve knitted for myself since I started knitting 10 months ago. :D First was the nipple Berry stitch bag, 2nd was the Alpaca silk secret ‘Dashing’ gloves and this is the third!

Umn.. okay… I guess the Dashings were wearable but you know what I mean. Wear on my bodaayyy.. Not just on my hands or something.

Yes, I know my flowers are dying and it’s cheezy to take photos beside flowers and my backyard is overgrowing (AGAIN!) okay but shut up, it’s my photo.

The back. I kinda look like a stegasaurus with those cables going up my spine.

Close up of the wooden toggle bought from spotlight.

Name of project: Central Park HOOOOODIE!

Yarn: 6 balls exactly, Cascade 220 in Blue (If WEBS were right, this is a discontinued colour. I think it’s called ‘Bluebell’)

Needles: Knitpicks Nickel Plated 4mm and 5mm

Cast on date: 07 June 2008

Cast off date: 03 August 2008

Learned:

- To cable without a cable needle! Do a search in Google if you want to know how to do it. :D I feel so happy to not have to struggle with an extra needle falling all over the place.

- Knitted sleeves both at once on the magic loop. Again, Google the method if you are interested. Not that I don’t love you, but I’m still having trouble linking. *Winks*

Modifications:

- Knitted fronts and back in one piece (I can’t really call it ‘in the round’, can I?)

- Sleeves knitted in the round too.

- Did the button band 3″ instead of 1.5″. (Because there wasn’t enough to cover my body. I know…. I’m not thin.)

- Continued the cables up the center of the hood as most other knitters have done.

Mistakes: Cow cow monkey monkey kangeroo! It was going all soooooo well and smooth but MISTAKES HAVE TO HAPPEN, DON’T THEY? I missed out one cable repeat on the hood and had knitted 7 rows before noticing that the last cable looked realllly long.
*RAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*

Then, I did something only the very brave would do. Instead of tinking or ripping back 7 rows of the hood, I used a stitch holder to hold 2 stitches to each side of the cable and dropped the center 6 stitches 7 rows down. (The cable is 6 stitches wide).

Then, I crossed 3 stitches at that row and used my crochet hook to hook the yarn at the back through.

I had to do this for the 7 rows.

Phew. I SAVES THE DAY!!!!!!!!! YAY ME!!!!!!

Ok, will write more about going to Uni and stuff prolly soon. I have lots of things to sort out now. I also have another FO which is Sunshine’s Pixie hat knitted in Malabrigo…. MMmmMMmm… But have no decent photo to show you. It had been raining and when I went out to take those CPH pictures, she was asleep. Bah… excuses excuses….

*Muak!*
