Lulu’s Holey Skirt

SHIT!!!!!!! I TYPED AN ENTIRE ENTRY BUT HIT THE WRONG BUTTON AND EVERYTHING DISAPPEARED!!!! *Cries*

SO AS I WAS SAYING……….. finally have the time to sit my butt down amidst all the work I have to do to upload pictures of my latest FO.

This photo looks scary – like as if she is floating in mid air. *Shudders*

Please pardon the photos – they are very badly taken, I know.

Name of project: Lulu’s Eyelet Skirt

Yarn: 9.5 balls of Moda Vera Bamboo/Cotton in Blue

Needles: Knitpicks Nickel Plated and Harmony 4.5mm

Cast on date: 17 March 2008

Cast off date: 02 June 2008 (It was hibernating for a long time.)

Learned: Nothing.

Modifications: Knitted in the round. Also shortened it by not doing as many repeats of the eyelets. Thank goodness I did so because Lulu is very short. >__<

Mistakes: None! :D

This yarn is very splitty and slippery. But then again, it was relatively cheap yarn from Spotlight. So we can’t expect too much, can we?

The skirt was quite heavy but the draw string I crocheted holds it up fine. I hope it doesn’t drop when Lulu wears it out. Imagine the embarrassment!

On other knitty note, I’ve casted on a few projects. Namely a pair of fingerless gloves for my Aussie Swap Pal, a pair of fingerless gloves for my co-worker’s birthday gift – both of which I have completed one side -, a Donkey Jacket for Sunshine which has gone into hibernation because I needed the needles to start on my Central Park Hoodie.

Yes, I’ve re-casted on my CPH in Cascade 220 wool! Hopefully things go smoothly this time.

Alright, off to knit. I have not knitted the whole day!

I leave you with a picture of Sunshine sitting in the suitcase. :D

I’m BAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

Wooo! Hooo!!!!!

It’s great to be back (minus the fact that my other loved ones are not here…. *pouts*)

Lovely 11 degrees now…… (brrr)…… My beloved doggies and kitteh… Sasha and Scoot… my SnB… my SPANKING NEW BUTT ECHO!! (Back from the workshop with a very nice butt!!!)… my pillow and bolster…. etc etc etc etc

Well, I’ve been unpacking like a mad woman and also doing the laundry, changing the bedsheets etc… laundry is a pain to do in winter. It rains almost everyday and the clothes won’t dry!!! I have a good mind to pack them and bring them to work – put them in the dryer there… If only I can be sure that no one there will see my panties churning round and round in the dryer… hmmmm.

I’ve also been planning to change the layout of some furniture in the house. We have moved a desk from the computer room into the spare room in anticipation of Sunshine’s new playpen to be put in the computer room. Am going to shift the sofa and TV so that the sofa will not be cutting the living room into half, making it smaller than it really is.

Our house is really full of junk. Grrrrr…….

I feel refreshed after 12 hours of sleep. Yes. I slept at 10pm last night!

Off to work now!

I wanna go home…..

Other than the lovely people I’m staying with now (my mum and sister, of course) and the cheap and good (albeit unhealthy) food, I’m pretty much over this place.

I wanna go home.

Reverse culture shock?

The toxins are coming back.

Timmi, The Trailblazer of our hearts

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Dearest Timmi,

Thank you for sharing your life with us. Thank you for being A’s guardian angel. Thank you for your love and your being there for A. Thank you for being a bright and shining star. Thank God for allowing us to know you and to spend our lives with you.

You will always be a champion in our hearts. The way you and Lasse used to run the obstacle courses while barking at each other will always be etched in many people’s mind. The medals and trophies you won may not mean much to you nor us. But we did have fun, didn’t we?

Now you are free from all your old age pains and sores. There will be fun obstacle courses and fun bike rides where you are now. Where your soul is young again and you can run freely in the fields once again.

Timmi, wait for us. We will meet again one day and we can go running once again. Lasse, Benji and Chiyo will play with you again. Wait for us.

Love from,

A, Lasse, Nad, Benji, Chiyo, Puss, Kelly, Sunshine and me

If you get there before I do, don’t give up on me.

I’ll meet you when my chores are through;

I don’t know how long I’ll be.

But I’m not gonna let you down, darling wait and see.

And between now and then, till I see you again,

I’ll be loving you. Love, me.

Dear Timmi

Dear Timmi,

Nad and I are coming to see you soon. Please hang in there. Be a good boy and eat your food okay?

We love you very very much.

Love,

Jolene
