May

Last year, 10 May, while driving home, our car got smashed from the back. See here.

This year, 12 May, while driving to pick me up to go home, our car got smashed from the back AGAIN.

It wasn’t so bad this time round. Only the back light on the right side was damaged. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow and post it up here.

The bumper was also damaged.

Nad was waiting at a circle for his turn to go and a minute later, this other idiot driver must have been going too fast to stop in time. He must have swerved his van to the right and therefore only damaged our right lights. Otherwise I think the impact on the back might have been worse.

Sunshine was seated at the back in her baby seat. She slept through the drama. I really really really thank God for taking care of us, especially of Sunshine.

That’s two Mays in a row that we’ve had something happen to our cars. I hope this ends this year. No more. For goodness sake, DRIVE PROPERLY AND STOP BASHING INTO US!

This is going to inconvenience us so much. We’d probably have to leave the car with the panel beaters to fix on a new bumper ( BUhahahaha.. finally that other dent in the left side which I put in by backing into a ute can be replaced!!!) and will probably have to commute for a few days. Grrrrrrr.

DRIVE RESPONSIBLY AND SAFELY! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First words?

This morning Sunshine woke up and I was beside her. She was babbling to herself happily. Then, Nad came into the bedroom and I said to her, “Call ‘Daddy’”.

She thought for awhile and said, “Ta-Tee”.

We were shocked! We praised her and I said to her again, “Say ‘Daddy!’” and she thought for awhile again before saying, “Ta-Tee”.

I wonder if it’s just a coincidence?

A Walk In The Woods

We had a day off about 2 weeks ago, on ANZAC day. We went to see our Japanese friend, Izumi, who is currently studying to be a Vet Nurse. She cooked a delicious meal of Japanese curry rice and also baked a cheesecake. Yummy!

After lunch, we brought her out as she hasn’t been around Perth much. However, we didn’t want to go where the crowd goes. So we drove to a bush reserve. It’s called The Spectacles in Kwinana. It has a lake in the shape of a pair of glasses. Hence the name. Sasha calls it ‘The Testicles’. But that’s another story……

I won’t write much. Let the photos speak for themselves. (Actually, I’m rushing to go to Spotlight with Sasha.)

Getting ready. Tigger!

Complete with tail!

Actually, I don’t know what this is. Or was. :D

Look at the anthill! Amazingly HUGE!!!!!!!!! Compared to my hand!!!!

Okay, last one to show you how vain she is. She actually sat there for a few minutes, smiling at herself! Hehehe.

Dang, I’m late! See you!!!!!!!!

Darn lace

Rachel Greene (F.R.I.E.N.D.S): And my veil was lace, made by blind, Belgium nuns.

Woman: Blind?

Rachel: Well, not at first, but it was very intricate work and they said even though they lost their sight, it was all worth it.

So, regarding the Swallowtail Shawl.

I didn’t do it right the first time. Let me show you with the aid of pictures.

The budding lace is supposed to look like buds or leaves.

THESE didn’t look like leaves! They look like random globs of gloppys!

And just so you know what a huge idiot I am? I didn’t have lifelines BEFORE the error.

It was frogged.

It was this big.

But never mind, I restarted it immediately and I am not past the point where I made the error. I enlarged the pattern and use the spreadsheet that Sasha gave to me. I just had to count after every row I knitted and ticked the box off when everything tallies. That way, I not only keep track of the row I am in, I also keep track of the number of stitches. Brilliant!

It’s growing very nicely now. Looking good. Just remind me not to be an idiot.

Very Funny!
