Will update soooooonn!!!!!!!

Yep, we have a super long weekend here. Good friday, Saturday, Sunday and Easter Monday.

I stripped off all the bedclothes, both our bed and Sunshine’s and dumped them all into the washing machine that Sasha so generously gave to us. -Insert tears of joy here.- Incidentally, did you know that her middle name is ‘Joy’? It suits her to the T. She brings joy to everyone she knows. :)

I also did all the laundry that had been rotting in the basket for 2 weeks.

And loads of knitting. Rest and relax.

I have many photos to post (and yet to take) of stuff that I have been given for the past few weeks. I feel so spoilt and loved! Hehehe.

By the way, does anyone want to take a guess at how many jobs I’m holding now?

Cracks me up………..

Big chill in Singapore

Average temperatures for March dip to lowest in 74 years By Sumathi V Selvaretnam and Tania Tan

IF you have been feeling the chill in your bone and reaching for your woollies, blame the weather.

Average temperatures so far this month have dipped to 25.6 deg C – the lowest in 74 years. The coldest March was in 1934, when mean temperatures was 25 deg C.

Thermometers across the island registered a chilly 21.8deg C – cooler than most air-conditioner temperatures – on Thursday night

More here

21.8 degrees and you reach for woollies…. this is funny. I cannot imagine people in Singapore wearing woollen or fur coats.

I saw a FO but nobody believed me.

Tee hee.

It’s done!!!!!!!!!!

Saartje’s Booties in pink and white!

Washed and blocking flat.

Name of project: Paton’s slip stitch jumper

Yarn: Heirloom 8-ply cotton in pink and white

Needles: Addi Turbo 3.25mm and 4mm

Cast on date: 23 Jan ’08

Cast off date: 23 Feb ‘o8

Learned: To knit in a round using magic loop. Three needle bind off.

Modifications: Knitted in a round instead of back and forth. In process, read the pattern wrong – should have purled instead of knit on every 2nd patterned row because of the nature of knitting in a round. Thus, created my own slip stitch pattern . Tee hee hee!

Mistakes: I bound off the shoulder stitches using 3 needle bind off on the WRONG side (i,e on the right side of the jumper). Not only that, our dear Jan called me in the middle of the night while I was doing the 3 needle bind off for the first time in my life and I dropped stitches and I didn’t know how to put it back!!!

Luckily, I had Sasha to save me. She undid it and I bound it off the right way this time. :) Don’t you love her?

Name of project: Saartje’s booties but with Fleegle’s modifications

Yarn: Heirloom 8-ply cotton in pink and white

Needles: Addi Turbo 4mm

Cast on date: 23 Feb ’08

Cast off date: 05 Mar ’08

Learned: Turkish cast on. Crochet slip and chain stitch! Cable cast on (knit-on cast on).

Modifications: Used 4mm needles because when I use 2mm or 2.5mm, only prematured babies can fit their foot in!! >:(

Mistakes: None

Even though the booties were a small project, I really learned alot of new techniques and it was really satisfying. I could have completed them in a shorter amount of time if not for the web store I am (still) building.

Hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures. Once the jumper and booties are dry, I will send them off to my friend. :)

Shit….. Did I just say jumper?? I meant SWEATER!!!!!!!!

MUST . NOT . BECOME . AUSTRALIAN.

Well, stop blaming the ministers!

With the recent escape of JI terrorist, Mas Selamat, much blame and many fingers have been pointing towards the authorities.

I urge you guys to give the authorities a break. We, the ones who have a family to feed and expected to survive on less than SGD1000 per MONTH, cannot put blame on people who sit in air con and take in 2million per YEAR one okay? Dun pway pway.

By the way, there is new info here:

http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/Singapore/STIStory_212432.html?vgnmr=1

Please note that the much publicized LIMP that Selamat has, it is suddenly not that obvious anymore. So now, if you do see any man that looks like him, give him a chase to see if he starts to limp.

Now, in addition to:

For your own safety, pls stand behind the yellow line. (in 4 languages) and
Please do not leave your belongings unattended. / Please report any suspicious looking article and call 999.(also in 4 languages)…… we will soon have

Please inform us if you spot Mas Selamat, a man that sometimes limps and sometimes doesn’t limp. Check the cabin for any suspicious persons and chase him down the aisle to see if he starts limping. Check under the seats too.
(in 4 languages).

It is stated in

http://journalism.sg/2008/03/02/the-other-casualty-of-the-great-escape-mainstream-media-credibility/

that: Foreign Minister George Yeo has assured that “what can be made public, will be made public”.

Ehh… which in layman’s terms, simply means, “We’ll let you know only what you need to know.”

Which was why I used to buy newspapers for the sole purpose of letting my dogs pee/ poo indoors on them. Since what I WANT TO KNOW, I can find out by simply opening my eyes wide.

So, ahh… stop blaming the authorities ok? Be a good citizen, go take a break from your work (doesn’t matter if your wife and kids are starving at home) and stay in the army 24/7, on standby, or join in the massive manhunt.

He may be sitting in one of the minister’s houses, drinking teh or kohi with him and laughing at all the ruckus they have created.
