I saw a FO but nobody believed me.

Tee hee.

It’s done!!!!!!!!!!

Saartje’s Booties in pink and white!

Washed and blocking flat.

Name of project: Paton’s slip stitch jumper

Yarn: Heirloom 8-ply cotton in pink and white

Needles: Addi Turbo 3.25mm and 4mm

Cast on date: 23 Jan ’08

Cast off date: 23 Feb ‘o8

Learned: To knit in a round using magic loop. Three needle bind off.

Modifications: Knitted in a round instead of back and forth. In process, read the pattern wrong – should have purled instead of knit on every 2nd patterned row because of the nature of knitting in a round. Thus, created my own slip stitch pattern . Tee hee hee!

Mistakes: I bound off the shoulder stitches using 3 needle bind off on the WRONG side (i,e on the right side of the jumper). Not only that, our dear Jan called me in the middle of the night while I was doing the 3 needle bind off for the first time in my life and I dropped stitches and I didn’t know how to put it back!!!

Luckily, I had Sasha to save me. She undid it and I bound it off the right way this time. :) Don’t you love her?

Name of project: Saartje’s booties but with Fleegle’s modifications

Yarn: Heirloom 8-ply cotton in pink and white

Needles: Addi Turbo 4mm

Cast on date: 23 Feb ’08

Cast off date: 05 Mar ’08

Learned: Turkish cast on. Crochet slip and chain stitch! Cable cast on (knit-on cast on).

Modifications: Used 4mm needles because when I use 2mm or 2.5mm, only prematured babies can fit their foot in!! >:(

Mistakes: None

Even though the booties were a small project, I really learned alot of new techniques and it was really satisfying. I could have completed them in a shorter amount of time if not for the web store I am (still) building.

Hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures. Once the jumper and booties are dry, I will send them off to my friend. :)

Shit….. Did I just say jumper?? I meant SWEATER!!!!!!!!

MUST . NOT . BECOME . AUSTRALIAN.
