The One About Many Things That Have Happened

Alright….

We got into a motor-car accident just 2 nights ago.

Nad was driving us home on the freeway while 3 cars in front of us came to an abrupt halt. We stopped in time but 2 seconds later, we heard screeching of tyres very close to us. And then……………….. BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily we did not lurch forward and knock the car in front. We still have not settled the ownership of the car as well as the insurance (the car came from another state).

We will now have to claim the damages from the woman’s insurance company. The panelbeaters have quoted us a whopping $5 – 8k. But they will liase with the woman’s insurance company directly.

Our bumper caved inwards, causing the boot to be stuck as well as the back door on the left. We cannot open them. We suspect the suspensions at the back are also damaged. The wheel alignment is also out. The bumper was scraping against the back tyre when we drove it, making a screeching sound.

Well we thought other than that, the car should be ok to drive. But the mechanic smelt fuel. So they loaned us a manual car that is very old and dusty and has tinted windows and back screen so I cannot see clearly at all especially at night where I look into the rear mirror and see blotches of lights. I cannot make out which lanes the cars behind me are on either. And since our dear friend Nad has forgotten completely how to drive a manual transmission, the stress is mine. And oh…. this car drinks $10 worth of petrol in half a day.
I’m crossing fingers that on Monday when we get back to the panelbeaters, their Auto transmission car would have came back and they could loan that to us instead. They will also be calling the insurance company in our presence.

It doesn’t help that we are dead broke now either. We live day by day. Sigh. Life is tough. Being an adult sucks. I wish I were a kid again.

On a happier (I hope) note, we found out that baby is a girl. :D

The doctors did a 3D map on her face and she looks alot like me. Yes, already! She kicks alot especially at night. And she also likes to press on my bladder so I have to go to the loo once every 15 minutes.

There are many things I am looking forward to especially getting my work permit so I can lift some burden off poor Nad’s shoulder. About a month or so more to go. Argh.
